But it doesn't work the same.

Works but my headlights no longer turn off automatically (when I turn the car off). The headlights still turn off automatically, but not the side lights. So the battery dies every time someone forgets to turn it off manually. When the headlights go out, people assume all the lights are out. Really bad news. If the battery is dead, the key fob will not work to open the doors. ALSO a new ignition key! I need to find the original keys to open the doors manually. UGG!

Works great.: Lock Cylinder

Fairly easy installation. My only issues not related to this product was that the old switch can't be removed unless you can flip it to the 'accessory' position. In my case the key was locked in the off position. Finally I got it moving by using a hair dryer on the case around it. It appears to have "frozen" during a cold Minnesota winter, possibly from moisture. Otherwise, installing the new one after removing the old switch took a few seconds and worked like a charm. Much cheaper here than…

As mentioned, the hardest part was removing the old lock cylinder. The key must be in the ACC position to remove it. I tried squirting lube in the keyhole but I don't think it helped. I ended up removing the screw from the back of the switch where the connector is. I thought I could take it apart from the back. I couldn't take it apart but while under the dash removing the screw I tried to turn the key and it went to the ACC position. I think it has something to do with removing the screw and…
