Requires modification to work properly

The only thing I didn't like was that it was almost impossible to remove the post and seat with the top "edge" that was on it. Took them both to the sander and removed the edge. Now they are great.

Cylindrical honing machine and bearing grease works wonders

Ok after reading the preview I used the honing machine, opened up the base and put on a drop of bearing grease and it works great and is easy to remove. I use non-pedestal bases when moving and adding when in place to fish.

Great boat seat attachment!

These are perfect for the new boat seats we bought (to replace our old mounting bases and seats). Our old sockets were bent but they are amazing, durable, inexpensive and installed in under 15 minutes!

Excellent quality seating set from stock

I bought this set through a warehouse and it arrived in perfect condition except the box was opened. Lots of money saved. The base and seatpost fit together snugly and won't wobble. Will be installed on the boat deck and updated once I spend some time with it.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Doubtful

Now this brand works!

Bought another brand and found it sloppy, wobbly and dangerous to the person sitting in the chair. Couldn't return as I've had it for 6 months. Bought and installed: stable and safe. Trick - to easily detach the seat from the stand, spray silicone spray on the connecting parts. Less clutter than other posted solutions and works great!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Lots of things

The seat is stuck in the base!

Installed 2 of these seats on my boat to remove and use the seats as needed. However, once I've placed the post and installed the seat into the base, it's now stuck in the base and pretty much useless until I find a way to remove it without straightening my back. I give it 1 star because they are stuck otherwise I would rate them higher as they look good.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall
Cons
  • Damaged

BENT OUT OF THE BOX, EASY TO TELL

Comes with boat seat (sold separately) in a large box with no damage to the large box making this unit cheap enough to strap in the box. It's not damaged anywhere, so I can only assume it was bent or bent from the factory. The weight was also a clear "quality" or quality issue. The only part I kept was the backup seat post, even if it looks like junk. If you are a 13 year old with a kayak and that is all you can afford I think it will pass but not for an adult charging the regular price…

  • Heavy Duty

I like this product though.

I like this product. It's solid and rotates easily, but it's very difficult to get the seatpost out of the mount. I even sanded it down a bit and it still hurts. It's so difficult that I can't physically pull it out. It's a problem, but I found a solution. Lever and Pivot. Sounds more complicated than it is. I have a stick about 3 feet long and a small piece of wood an inch to an inch and a half thick. I keep them in a boat or truck. When it comes time to remove the seat from its mount, I put a
