Description of πŸ’» Ableconn PEX-UB108 USB 3.0 PCIe Host Adapter Card - NEC Renesas UPD720200 Chipset with 2-Port

Two USB 3.0 Type-A connectors. Up to 5Gbps data transfer speed. PCIe x1 lane Low Profile board. Include both Low Profile and Regular Size PCIe brackets. Instead of taking 5V power directly from power supply, our design includes power switching regulator circuit that automatically converts 12V from PCIe bus or from 15-Pin SATA power to ensure sufficient 5V/1.5A bus power on each USB port. No driver installation is required on Windows 10, Win8, Server 2012, Linux kernel 2.6.31 and later OS. The OS buit-in USB drivers support UASP. Built with NEC Renesas UPD720200. Fully RoHS compliant. Easy to install and function as described

It took me a few minutes to install this product and I'm by no means a computer pro. Once I installed it, no external drivers needed to be installed, it just worked! I didn't have to use any additional power cables, it worked quite well with power from the PCIe slot, and given that I use all slots extensively, I find it quite impressive. As for other reviews: All slots work for my extension.

Pros
  • Built with NEC Renesas UPD720200. Fully compliant with RoHS requirements. Made in Taiwan.
Cons
  • Long delivery time

So far, so good. suitable for computers and accessories

I originally bought an Orico USB stick but had problems with it, this works great and the built in single USB port works great with my bluetooth USB dongle. A NOTICE. The USB ports are mounted vertically from north to south, not horizontally from east. -west. They're also very close together, so large USB cables, a Wi-Fi adapter or similar won't fit when connected to other devices. This was done to allow this card to be installed in a half-height case. Almost all PCI slots in PC cases are too…

Pros
  • Instead of drawing 5V directly from the power supply, our design includes a switching power regulator circuit that automatically converts 12V power from the PCIe bus or SATA 15-pin connector to provide sufficient power for the 5V bus / 1.5A per USB port. .
Cons
  • Periodicity

Perfect I/O Port Cards

Installs drivers automatically and just works. My entire Oculus 4 Touch system works through this card with no issues. I used to have to compromise by unplugging external drives from the MOBO USB to make sure I could run all the sensors, now I can plug everything in with no issues.

Pros
  • No driver installation required for Windows 10, Win8, Server 2012, Linux Kernel 2.6.31 and later. Built-in operating system USB drivers support UASP.
Cons
  • old

The instructions that came with it were generic so they just said to go to their website to get the driver. I've kept clicking every link that says "USB" but none of them lead to the driver for this card. I finally found it under "I/O Maps". It makes sense when you think about it, but it's a USB expansion card, after all. Anyway, installing the driver wasn't quick, but it worked the first time, which isn't always the case with things like this. Like the hard drive, the card has a 15-pin SATA…

Pros
  • Two USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Data transfer rate up to 5 Gbit/s.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
