Accel = junk in ignition parts

Their wires melted, their coil deteriorated. And this kit ran like garbage. The car stalls when it's hot and in gear. These are the three products that have gone bad. Stuck with glasses and walked better. Accel poor quality control.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • ill thought out

THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE YOUR POINTS.

THIS KIT IS VERY EASY TO ASSEMBLE WITH A SCREWDRIVER. THERE ARE NO CUSTOMIZATIONS AND THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO BUY. This kit fit like a glove and made the engine run as smooth as silk unlike the Petronius brand which ruined the ignition system.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Unreliable

Probably good for carbureted cars

I bought this because I needed an electronic fuel injection ignition signal which I put on my Ford 390. It doesn't send a constant RPM signal and doesn't work for my application at all. Most likely suitable for carburettor vehicles. It had a photo-eye sensor.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Okay, so far it works, but prepare yourself for a dilemma.

Don't do it. The first kit installed on my 1966 T-Bird failed after about 2 months. It took several years to replace the kit, but then it started to work intermittently. Worst of all, it fails like sudden death; In my case, I was either at home or next to him. Lost confidence in the system and always carried standard glasses. Returned to the original roadside installation.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Update available

weird but pretty good i think

This is not my first rodeo. I've been driving classic Fords as an amateur for about 15 years. I bought this to save myself the dots that were always screwed up on my Mustang 65 due to a bad plenum. I hate spending money unnecessarily so I bought this in place of a new distributor. In the end it works quite well. I don't really see it doing me any good, I don't feel or notice any difference in horsepower or torque or anything. He seems to start a little quicker with that than with points…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Nothing here
