Died within the first few hours

Paste in place with thermal paste like the other three I've gone through. She died within the first few hours. dissatisfaction and disappointment.

Pros
  • Fits most standard and aftermarket manifolds
Cons
  • Blank

Good replacement for a good price.

My MSD Pro stick spreader has a bad habit of eating modules due to overheating. Radiator mass helps, but it's only a matter of time. They seem to outlive most other brands.

Pros
  • High rolling performance and excellent reliability
Cons
  • Some difficulties

2 months later I'm lying dead on the side of the road.

I bought an ignition module with the right performance coil to save as much fuel as possible and all I got was terrible performance and stayed on the RT-31 side where I live and I had to go home and pray I didn't throw away my OEM module. I reinstalled my OEM and have never looked back. So now I've lost $60 thinking I got it from Summit and completely forgot I got it from Revain. Remember it was fine for a month and it's still in my toolbox as a reminder.

Pros
  • Solid State Electronics
Cons
  • Not bad but...

A little over a year is great.

I ordered this module to replace the stock version I had on my 1988 Chevy pickup after it failed. I took the old one out, cleaned the dirt that was on the manifold, smeared the new "radiator grease" that came with it, and put it all back together. It lit up right away. My truck worked fine for a little over a year and I had to replace it again. This time I went to Napa Auto Parts and bought the OEM style and it's been around for about 3 years now. Maybe I got a bad one from Accel, I don't know,

Pros
  • Retard Control Circuit
Cons
  • Protection

Don't buy this junk!

This module is as advertised. Then, right after the 30 day warranty expired, my car was sent to a tow truck. Proper installation (ex GM mechanic), correct voltage and proper grounding with new cap/rotor/wires/connectors. I have used Accel products on many of my hot rods in the past and they have worked well for a long time. With that in mind, and installed in a streamlined situation, I didn't think the 30-day guarantee was going to be an issue. I was wrong and paid $62 for the trouble. Likeโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Operating Speed

Works on my Astro van! :)

I haven't done any dyno testing though. My main point is this. Smoother idle, better acceleration and more power at cruising speed. The engine had sporadic rough idle problems which were reduced. To be honest I also installed an ACCEL Super Coil which I bought on (sigh!) ebay. I did NOT have high expectations. I mainly did this to assemble heavy/high performance parts. My car, a 1995 Chevy Astro Van, had factory parts. It should be noted that the connections were slightly rusted. This may haveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Gives more spark to the spark plugs
