At $40 this is great value. I've had Browne and Sharp, Mitutoyo and this one. Mitutoyo wins like butter, but they're pretty expensive. Browne and Sharp are equally expensive and do not perform any better. For $40, that's a great deal.

I was looking for a turn signal that was inexpensive enough for a shop. This indicator seems to work relatively well BUT it only works when pointing at the front of the pen. I usually use the rear (stationary) jaw as the indicator face when specifying a vise, and the indicator is done by moving it along the back of the feeler gauge. With this indicator it is simply impossible.

So far, so good. Smooth, no sticking, long stroke with ZERO "dead zone". The moment the needle moves from the neutral position, the needle moves, reducing the chance of the needle getting stuck when crossing a hole or gap. The dial has perfect friction that can be reset easily without moving the entire display when the stylus is on the part. The pen is long, which is good, which is bad. It can get into spots, but it can also add leverage so it breaks off on impact. Let's hope I don't find out…
