After a Michigan winter with a heat setting that only worked on low…. I bought this, installed it and kept it warm on all fan settings last winter. Works great, very easy to install.

Identical to the previous fan motor resistor and at half the price of a replacement from a GM dealer. Also where the GM dealer installed 180 I bought it for less than 30 and installed it myself in 10 minutes. A full guide with pictures and detailed explanations on the Genvibe forums.

Five stars go to the reviewers. I have read all the reviews. With your comments I was able to successfully replace the resistor. I didn't have a flexible screwdriver. I used a 1/4" universal joint to unthread and unthread that rear bolt. I have all the speeds on my 2006 Vibe now. I saved at least $70 doing it myself. Revain delivery and price were excellent. Update September 2018: Part still works like new. Original rating 2016: The part was installed by myself and has been working great for a few weeks now. I have a 2006 Pontiac that lost its low and medium fan speeds. With this new rating, all fan speeds now work, and that's great. The part was difficult to install due to the tight space under the dash and behind the glove box.

The unit was an exact replacement for an OEM part. Installed in a few months and works flawlessly in my Pontiac Vibe. Easy installation that took about 10 minutes from start to finish. The delivery time to Nova Scotia, Canada was a few days longer than expected, but it had to be declared. The overall price was about $20 less than buying it locally and it took over a week to receive.

My 2007 Pontiac Vibe's fan motor would only start at maximum settings. This part solved the problem. The part is easy to find under the dashboard on the passenger side. It is held in place by two 5.5mm screws. The back one barely comes out. I removed the wires to the resistor for better access. I also changed the cabin filter during this time - disgusting! I installed this on my 2003 Pontiac Vibe when low settings stopped working after a huge search engine referred me to other Vibe owners who had the same problem in the past.
