Description of Genuine GM Parts 15-81773 HVAC Blower Control Module

Some GM Genuine Parts may have formerly appeared as ACDelco GM Original Equipment (OE). GM Engineers design and validate OE parts specifically for your Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac vehicle. Original equipment parts are designed to work with your GM vehicle safety systems -- aftermarket replacement parts may not meet the same OE safety regulations, depending on the part type. GM regularly updates production and service part designs to integrate new materials and technologies.

Installed on 2005 Chevy Trailblazer with ATC

This is an updated resistance module for several GM vehicles. This fixed my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer with RPO automatic temp control, code CJ2, because the blower was stuck at high speed even with the key off and also couldn't turn the fan off with the fan switch. The old style resistor module was black with a wired fan electrical connection. This new style requires replacing the cable connector with one where the fan connector and control wires are in the same connector and are now separate from

For Auto Climate Control

I installed this on my 06 Silverado with Auto Climate Control after my original module burned out and the fan stopped working. It is necessary to cut off the factory connector and insert a new connector. I used 2 12 gauge butt joints and 1 18 gauge butt joint. This is the second improved design from GM/ACDelco with a more efficient heatsink and other internal improvements. Installation took 10 minutes and works great. All fan functions have returned to normal operation. Some people solder or…

Works great, solved a stuck fan problem on a 2004 Suburban

I used this to fix a stuck fan problem (even with the ignition off) on my 2004 Suburban. The designation "GM-Original" is misleading, since the connector on the module is not identical to that of the original GM. However, it does come with a wire harness and instructions, and after splicing the three wires, it works identically to the original. Also, the only difficulty with the installation was removing the two-pin connector from the fan. On the 2004 Suburban, the fan connector is positioned…

It worked great - Blower Motors

October 16, 2019, exactly 4 years since I replaced it in my 2005 Silverado. On Sunday October 6th 2019 he finally gave up on me and got roasted. When I removed it for troubleshooting I found corrosion on the side of the sensor reeds and also attempted to melt the harness connector. Not sure what could be causing this, but it worked fine at the time I had it. It's also pretty easy to fix. I'm very careful with my wiring so I hate cutting back on my good repair and installing a new one. This time

Works great on my 2003 GMC Envoy with automatic temperature control.

Easy installation. Secure 3 wires and connect 3 others with butt connectors or wire nuts. I used wire nuts and taped them just like the original wiring harness. I cut off the original wiring rigidity leaving enough room to reconnect it to the original connector in case GM or ACDelco decide to go back and glue it back to the connector. After struggling with the fan fan connector, I found it much easier to get to when I removed the glove box. I did this on my 2003 GMC Envoy with the ignition key…

This is a great solution. The GMC dealer wanted $265 for the part and .

My 2007 GMC Envoy SLT with A/C had a bad fan motor (or so I thought). I dug into the fan module and fan motor under the glove box and put MM on both. the controller had 12.xx volts, the fan had 0 volts. I removed the glove box, fan module and the fan itself. Why the fan you ask when I just replaced the fan module? Because it is easier to route the power cable between the module and the fan when the fan is removed. Symptoms: The fan runs one day and not the next. When it worked it had 3 speeds…

I bought this item for my 2003 GMC Envoy XL. This car is equipped with GM's automatic temperature control. My problem was that the fan ran at a very low speed and sometimes STILL WORKED WITH THE IGNITION OFF, EVEN IF THE KEY WAS REMOVED. After several searches on the internet, the car's symptoms matched a faulty blower resistor package; However, since my car's climate control was "automatic", I needed a [more sophisticated] fan control module. The first is used when the fan speeds are manually…
