Good replacement for a bad original

I bought this to replace a torx head screw that came from the factory on my '99 Silverado gear pan! By the way, I had to use a pneumatic hammer with a chisel to unscrew the factory hammer. This one worked well, the only complaint is that they had to make the hex head a bit deeper.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Hard to say

Do not remove from 16pt. The head will fall off.

This is the one that comes from the factory and you damaged it trying to remove it from your 4l60. This works as long as you don't overtighten and use 16pt to remove. I ended up grinding the 15mm head with 8 points on the tip to fit the entire head of the nut. works perfect.

Pros
  • Easy to install

Great bolt. - Transmissions & Parts

I purchased this bolt to replace the bolt that was tightened in my transmission pan which was run by Optimus Prime itself with a 12ft cheat pipe on a 6ft Dropbar has been tightened. I had to weld a nut to a bolt in the transmission pan to get it out. I tightened a new screw like I just broke my arm and the doctor told me I would never use my arm again.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

A 4l60e deep frying pan is ideal. Good business.

Used on a 01 Silverado 4l60e deep pan. There the old one was EXTRACTED. I tried pounding into the bushings with a 1/2" jackhammer, vise, torch, etc. I ended up screwing the old pallet onto a wooden bench and drilling out. It took a while, but I took it off and the new one fitted perfectly. The new one has a fresh seal and doesn't require a lot of torque to create a good seal.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive

Carefully consider another manufacturer.

Should have read the reviews on this more carefully. The area where your socket or wrench applies torque is very narrow/thin when looking at the head of the bolt. It's really bad design and very easy to take off (which is why I ordered it). This is not a Revain product - it's an ACDelco OEM so shame on them. No issues with price, shipping or packaging - Revain did the job, ACDelco didn't.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some flaws

An updated design would be nice, but I should consider flush mounting.

Factory original replacement. As others have said an updated design would be nice but I have to keep in mind that the flush fit with this screw is perfect for deepening the original factory pan. This design appears to be intentional as it could severely scratch any surface it touches if protruding from the transmission oil pan or potentially snagging on road debris. Buy a few of these and replace them every time you service your transmission and you'll never have a problem again.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • unreliable

After buying a used 2000 Tahoe. Started changing the fluids. When I first started using the gear oil, I miraculously noticed that it chewed up quite well. I knew the only way to remove that transmission pan bolt was to use a bolt extractor. So I gave up and ordered a replacement ac delco. The replacement fitted perfectly. My only issue is that I would like more room for the screw head to allow the socket to hold properly to avoid future pan screw stripping.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not the best
