Didn't get the starter pictured in the ad.

The starter has been changed. It appears to be a cheap Chinese part that looks nothing like the "Delco Remy" pictured in the ad. This is the third letter I have received in this "new" style. I'm afraid to install it in my C6 for fear it will fail and I'll have to remove the header again.

Need a starter motor for a 2006 Corvette that doesn't cost five hundred dollars.

Official GM starter costs hundreds of dollars more than I was willing to pay, especially since my original GM starter literally melted, so I found this one and ordered it. Runs better than my GM ever did (although I owned the car, not the original owner) and the old lady starts like she just rolled off the assembly line.

Correct replacement for C6Z

Works as intended. Easy enough replacement - took maybe 90 minutes. You'll probably need to loosen (not completely remove) the passenger exhaust manifold bolts to allow the pipe to move the half inch that I need to clear. Getting the old one out was harder than putting the new one in. Tip: When installing a new one, remove the plastic cover (switched to metal on later models) that sits between the starter and the block. That's a screw. Place the plastic piece around the starter where it should…
