🔌 ACDelco 61G / 9G Professional Glow Plug (1 Pack) Review

Fixed my Duramax diesel engine in less than 30 minutes. This is definitely a DIY job. Removing the viewfinder was a lot harder than changing that glow plug. I will definitely go this route again if I have to.

They looked identical to the original. One of mine (#8) failed at 42,000 miles so I replaced them all until I removed the fender liner. Incidentally, cylinder #8 is on the driver's side of my Duramax diesel, near the firewall.

Replaced all 8 on my LBZ 2500HD. The passenger side is easy, the driver's side has a lot of cables to move. However, this is easily doable with a 1/4" socket wrench. Don't forget to inflate it the night before and apply anti-seize paste to the threads next time.

Clow AC Delco 61G spark plugs are perfect for my 2008 Silverado HD. ACDelco 61G glow plugs are original equipment for GM's line of diesel engines. Installation is relatively easy (had to remove the inner fender liner) and you will need a 3/8 drive kit with Universal. The driver's side was a bit more difficult due to the steering column.

Great replacement, good price. I threw away code #8 and tried to change it on a hot day, so I did it in the morning with the engine cold. Big mistake. Broke it (do not need much). These are hollow steel plugs in an aluminum head that they can jam. More research later. The engine must be warm. Always use penetrating oil the night before on a hot engine. This will help hold onto the threads. Spray again, warm up, and they'll get a lot better.

2008 Duramax - Pulled out inner fender liner and got good access to replace my #8 driver's side glow plug. I only ordered one as I only had one mistake and I wasn't sure where the part was made. Original Delco air conditioning. You can't go wrong with this. The fit was excellent along with the perfect finish of the piece.
