Good Chromebook but I returned it

This is probably the best $400 Chromebook on the market right now. Unfortunately I had to send mine back. The display has a good Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 with bright, crisp colors. The keyboard is great. The trackpad is large and responsive. Browsing the Internet is very fast. I tested this machine with Octane 2 and got around 12000 points. Not bad for a Celeron. So. why I sent it back. The problem was that the Chromebook I received had two manufacturing defects. The case is aluminum…

Love it ! Update: Legacy Laptops

I've only had this Acer Chromebook 2 days (it's my first Chromebook) but it took maybe 4 minutes to set up. So far I think it suits my needs, checking email and surfing the web and of course ordering from Revain. This is a more expensive Chromebook, but I wanted a backlit keyboard. I still have Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron, support ends in January 2020. I'm fed up with Windows, its lousy updates, etc. I've decided that the cost of a Chromebook is at least half the cost of a new laptop, I'd…

Pros
  • A little embarrassing about this

Quality build but limited Google support.

I like the Acer brand. Even their inexpensive products not only look high-quality, but also durable. My last Acer laptop lasted 7 years. I expect this one to do the same. The trackpad has a slight smack on the left side. The trackpad is surprisingly responsive and the clatter doesn't bother me. I particularly like the non-reflective touchscreen. The touchscreen itself tends to get dirty easily, so I won't be using it often. My biggest issue with this Chromebook is actually Google's update…

Pros
  • Useful not only for the intended purpose
Cons
  • Everything is fine

GREAT PRICE, GREAT PERFORMANCE

I chose the Chromebook on the advice of a software developer friend of mine. He uses Chromebook all the time for work and writes complex programs for business. I decided to start migrating from the Apple universe and the CB-514-C7 was my first purchase. I couldn't be happier. It handles daily web browsing, watching movies and TV shows, emails and other normal things quite well. Due to the sufficiently deep key drop, the keyboard feels very comfortable. A 14-inch touchscreen in a 12-inch body is

  • Minor issues

Too bad I didn't return it in the first 30 days; it's just crap.

My first Asus Chromebook was a dream for the first year before it started to fail. After another year of unreliable performance I bought an Asus c434 Flip but returned it shortly thereafter as it was obviously faulty with flashing screens etc. Then I bought this Acer based on the reviews. I quickly found this problematic, but stupidly didn't return it. Now, four months later, the biggest issues are the touchscreen and build quality. About once a day the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive…

What you need, a cool purchase, I advise you.

I am not a tech blogger and an expert. Just an ordinary user. I urgently needed a light and compact laptop for work and rare web surfing with watching movies. When buying, I got acquainted with the characteristics and understood what to expect. In general, the purchase is probably satisfied. Pros: -Build quality, everything is tightly tightened, nothing creaks, does not play, does not hang out. -Appearance. Relatively good plastic, to the touch. -The screen, most likely here amounted to more…

The laptop at the first launch is shamelessly buggy, worse than my 2022 laptop. Then, after all the ates and "million" reboots, the work becomes tolerable. I haven’t figured out yet whether it’s possible to shove another 4 giga of RAM into it, in some review I read that it doesn’t seem to be. If yes, I will definitely do it. My further plan is to buy a normal ssd (there is a separate connector on the screws for it m.2 type 2280, sata). I will transfer Windu to a new ssd (before demolishing…

Pros
  • Bright Fullhd screen with good viewing angles, licensed Windows, design, weight, price
Cons
  • 1) The sound is barn (easily solved by connecting to a bluetooth speaker, which almost everyone has) 2) The Internet is terribly slow. Pages barely load. Works only in the 2.4 band. I inserted a wifi module via usb which pulls 5Hz and the Internet flew. So you will definitely need to buy a 5GHz usb wifi module (~ 500) 3) Don't be fooled by the fact that there is an ssd in it! It has the same write/read speed as a normal hdd! (~140/140)
