This takes me about a week and overall I'm very happy. I've only used ChromeOS briefly so far, so although it's essentially just a Chrome browser in a clamshell form factor, I'm still getting used to some of the quirks. My main complaint about the OS is the inability to place shortcuts on the desktop. The search works well, but I don't need to clutter and clutter the shelf, so I just use the search. To give an idea of my usage I first looked for a replacement for my Nexus 9 tablet which has…

Amazing value for computers and accessories

The hardware and design of this Chromebook is really good for the price, it's lightweight and easy to use in both laptop and tablet mode. It doesn't feel as cheap as other Chromebooks in this price range. If you have an Android phone, it pairs well and allows you to view text messages (using Android Messages) and automatically unlock your laptop. I love that I can run Google Play apps and Linux apps from this computer so I can get all my work done. The battery life is phenomenal and the 1080p…

Excellent laptop suitable for computers and accessories

At 70 I'm far from a technical genius but this laptop is excellent! Super fast loading, super clear video, very intuitive to use if you're used to an Android phone, and best of all, the touchscreen and touchpad combo makes navigating so much easier for my fat old fingers. I am very comfortable. We work on RVs all the time and use our phone hotspots when RV parks don't have wifi or when we're on the road and the Acer connects with no problem.

Bad connection, weird loss of control, doesn't recognize micro SD card

This is a Chromebook and my second computer. I wasn't looking for a power station, but something to use on the train and during lunch breaks for writing and socializing. It's a solid device, but it has a few serious drawbacks. 1) Everything must be connected to the internet as it only uses apps. This means I need to be connected if I want to use the Microsoft Office applications. It drops regularly and I often have to reboot to reconnect the WiFi to a network. This is a real problem for a…

Two things keep this Chromebook from being 5-star.

Acer's Latest Flagship R13 13.3-inch 2-in-1 Convertible Touchscreen Full HD IPS Chromebook - Intel MediaTek MT8173C Quad-Core 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, 32GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, Webcam, HDMI, USB 3.0, Chrome OS June 16, 2018 - Two things keep this Chromebook from being a five-star device. First there was a large SD card in the slot and it didn't work. Check the maximum size before purchasing a microSD card for this computer or if SD card size is important to you. The charging cable broke right in front

Laptop and tablet in one for Chrome users

Actually I would give this one 41/2 stars. For those who don't need all the bells and whistles of Microsoft products, a Chromebook is the right choice. These are netbooks that use all of Google's G-Suite products. For students, this is a great product. Acer is great. The 13.5 inch screen is BIG. I have a 10 inch for work and the 13 blows it away. It's fast too. It runs all internet games and videos in high quality. Like all other Chromebooks, it turns on immediately. It's light, but could be…

Well built! for computers and tablets

I just received this and am transferring it from my Kindle Fire 10 (which I will never give up). But I'm pleasantly surprised every time I open Acer to make something new. No problem installing Fire games on this one. Or things like FaceBook. It's just smooth. The car is faster than I'm used to. You will see great pictures on the screen and movies on You Tube will be easy to pull throughout the day. I think it would be good for the pros. And I know it would be good for a student or a new user…
