🌬️ ACI 174169 Windshield Washer Pump: Reliable and Efficient Performance for Crystal Clear Vision Review

It took over an hour to remove everything to get to the pump at the bottom of the washer reservoir as it's not easy to get to on the Taurus X but if it was there it took 20 seconds. change and test, pull out and put in a new one, which could be easier, then of course assemble everything that was removed to get to it. But works very well, like new!

It was pretty easy for me to replace this pump after watching the video on You Tube. When I hooked everything up and it ignited with a great sound of a running engine and splashing water on the windows I was very pleased to say the least. The only difficulty was draining the wiper before installing the new pump (my wife refilled it when it wasn't working) and it was 2° out and the fluid was freezing.

The pump is cheap, looks just like the original and fits well. The only problem is that the spout that goes into the tank is smaller than the original pump, or the rubber bushing is the wrong size. not sure which. I had to dry the bottom of the tank with a hair dryer and install an RTV silicone pump/sleeve to prevent leakage. Next time I'll buy a FORD for $25 more.

I also needed another part for my car that I couldn't find online so I went to the scrap yard. It was my lucky day because an old car like mine had the passenger side fender removed so I could see exactly how this washer pump fits my car. Instead of jacking up the car and removing the front wheel and wheel arch like I've seen in several YouTube videos, I was able to remove the old one and install the new one by reaching under the car without lifting it. Works except polarity is different from the 2005 factory Dodge Durango pump. The part is physically marked with the same polarity as the factory pump, but the actual polarity for the device is reversed, resulting in the device spraying the windshield when the rear washer activates.
