My 14 year old Jack Russell is very hard of hearing. She was vocally trained. Luckily she hears this whistle and runs towards me. Perfect size for my pocket.

My lab will disagree with my whistle but will go to this ACME whistle. Big size. You can hear it loud, but not a shrill ear. We have 16 acres and my dog can hear him even if he is on my 20 acre neighbors.

Matches advertisement. Bought 2, one for the car and one to carry in case she slips off her leash. Taught her to cum when she hears a whistle with lots of praise and treats. I feel like it can be heard quite a distance away, but I didn't give it full force during training.

Works well and appears to be well finished. It works on our dog from time to time, which I can't say about some of the other similar devices we've tried. It's definitely not a "quiet" whistle, which given our distance, we don't care. I'm still playing with it and testing it.

This whistle works well with my golden retriever. After training she now spawns hundreds of meters away when I use this. There are no problems with freezing in cold weather. Light weight and bright color make it easy to find. The sound of the whistle draws the dog's attention.

Advertised as a dog whistle but no different than a regular whistle. You can do the same with both. You could probably play less and buy a better whistle from the store. It's plastic. A good thing is that it was orange and I could see where I put it.

Whistle is plastic but sturdy. You hear it, but it doesn't hurt your ears like a coach's whistle in gym class. I suspect it sounds louder or different to the dog. When I first used it, my little Boston came running from afar. He's been trained to get close to a human whistle, but I can't whistle loud enough when he's far away (we live in a village on Tomorrow). I was pleasantly surprised that this did not require any additional preparation. I took a second one just in case.
