Great connection but wrong instructions

Works very well in providing a Wi-Fi signal in places where Wi-Fi was previously unavailable, but the instructions are wrong and the listing of the supplied accessory is incorrect The instructions state that when setting up WPS, the same SSID is generated with both the 2.4 and 5 extensions - this is incorrect as a new SSID is created. This wasn't a problem for me as the extension would be placed in a separate building, but the point is the instructions are wrong. While some reviewers claim that

Not quite what it seems!

There is a misconception among some that I have shared that "extension" is exactly what most of us think an extension means. Namely, the signal and network access you have in one place extends to other parts of the domain, buildings, etc. From this you can imagine that you can move without interruption, stream from one area to another and your so-called smart device only sees one network and thus continues to receive. Not so. The extender offers you a different network that may be available…

Works great with Verizon

I have a Verizon FIOS Gigabit and the Verizon network extenders are just a rebrand of the Actiontec network extenders. Therefore, it works perfectly with FIOS Quantum Gateway Router (G1100). For those of you who don't know how a FIOS router connects, I would like to say that it connects via a network cable and not a coaxial cable like a regular modem. However, the quantum gateway still has a coaxial connection intended for MoCA 2.0. You connect your FIOS router as usual, then connect the coax…

No good ISP signal via ActionTec adapter and WiFi extender for 60 days. . Finally, on Day 45, ActionTec Technical Support confirmed that "this" is a known issue and promised to fix it within 10 days. I have a regular Comcast Extreme Speed setup that has been working without problems for a long time. It's been 10 days, I called and no fixes, but there are instructions for setting up a buggy mini-network, first adapters to test "it". back out with no guarantee that the outcome will be any…

Easy setup, strong Wi-Fi signal, offers encryption

Works as expected: Fairly easy to set up, strong Wi-Fi signal, supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, supports traffic encryption all in one MOCA network ( basically we set a password for the MOCA adapter that connects to the modem and set the same password for this extender and all other MOCA adapters in this network). The extender has SSH capability and it is recommended to disable it - the extender is very similar to a computer with a command line interface and it is highly recommended not to expose

FAIL! (updated) Best in Computers & Accessories

We just moved into our new house and I wanted to set up my new home network; I already have cable internet (Xfinity) with Asus Wifi Router (RT-66ACU). I recently bought a pair of Motorola MM1000 MoCA 2.0 adapters to bridge (via MoCA) from PoE (where the cable modem and router are) to my home office, everything worked great! However, my wifi reception at the other end of the house was poor, the answer (I thought) was a MoCA wifi extender! The only one I could find was this ActionTec block. The…

Frontier Fios installed with a Frontier Gateway G1100 router

UPDATE: If you have purchased the WCB6200Q, after the WPS step, the first thing you should do is update the firmware from 1.1.10.20 to the latest version 1.1 Locate on 10/20 for "WCB6200Q Firmware Upgrade” for instructions and a file to upgrade the extender. Also, I forgot to mention one thing: Make sure you check your incoming splitter which is outside of your Fios block. You need to replace it with a MOCA compatible splitter instead of a regular splitter for this to work. I can confirm that…
