I was so excited that this matched my old Pyrex press. However, it is not sustainable. After 3 uses it cracked and broke when we added hot water.

I gave 3 stars for this 5 cup one piece strainer because it arrived folded. The material is thin and can explain this. After smoothing it out, it seems ok to try in my 20 ounce french press coffee maker.

I really like the secondary filter on the spout of the glass, I usually have pieces of tea leaves or coffee beans making their way around the plunger. However, the glass carafe is not very firmly anchored in the metal, so it must be handled with care.

Ordered 2 of these and shipped in separate envelopes. One screen was folded in half, the other four. Needless to say I had to smooth them out and one of them has permanent creases but it seems to be working. Inaccurate packaging, either at the factory when placed in plastic envelopes or when placed in the shipping box.
