Works better as a programmer OEM

I bought the OEM ST-LINK v2 from an authorized dealer thinking it was the way to go with the least headache. As usual my calculation needs to be recalculated as I could never see it in CubeProgrammer and the only thing I could do in ST-LINK was update the firmware. On the advice of a friend, I opted for this significantly cheaper variant with better branding and a good form factor. Plugged it in, everything worked straight away in the CubeProgrammer, and I was able to read and write on my STM32

Poor implementation of ST/Link SWD

I don't normally write bad reviews but this thing deserves it. There are many things I don't like about this device. I haven't been this disappointed in a purchase in a long time. The first thing I found was that the connectors on the ribbon cable that came with the device didn't actually fit the pins on the device. They just fall off immediately. Also, it turns out that there is no SWO connection on this programmer. Therefore, ITM is not emitted when debugging. It is a fundamental component of

I just spent 4 hours getting this (beeping) thing to work and it's useless. I tried this on Mac OS, Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04. None of my operating systems could recognize this device. I've installed several software packages that should install device detection drivers (Win 10) to no avail. I consider myself quite tech savvy with 12 years of experience as a software developer and IOT DIY master. I value my time and it's at least inconvenient to spend 4 hours of my life with this device! 😡 I
