Works as advertised. If you prepare the tire properly.

Works as advertised. If you prepare the tire properly beforehand by cleaning the rim and spraying it with some medical alcohol, the tire will pop onto the rim with no problem.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Compatible

Damaged due to poor packaging

Arrived damaged due to ridiculous manufacturer packaging. It doesn't fit in the box they designed and therefore the valve is irreparable right out of the box. Judging by the reviews, this seems quite common. I wanted to try it as I like driver designed stuff, but seriously, come on.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works great, maybe too expensive

For years I struggled with tubeless installations using a floor pump. Airshot makes previously impossible settings possible and previously difficult and confusing settings easy. I suspect a supercharger (if you have the room for it) would be slightly better, but the only time the air shot failed was when attempting to split-tube a tubeless-ready fatbike tire to a tubeless-ready one - Mount the rim. and I don't blame the device for this, I just suspect it has more limitations than theโ€ฆ

Go tubeless? Try this

bead installation. Almost a swear word. Wasted CO2 cartridges galore, or buy a $150 pump with a separate chamber just to quickly deflate to land the balloon? I have a great pump, why buy another one? But boardlanding is a dirty word. It's not hard to take a tubeless rim and tire and go tubeless. Admittedly, it's frustrating to take tons of YouTube tutorial videos and figure out what works and what doesn't, at the cost of wasted tape and time. And it was a strain to find that the high qualityโ€ฆ

If you have a great floor pump that can pump up to 160psi (I have a Topeak Joe Blow) then you can save $$$ on purchasing an air compressor (or a new floor pump with a canister built in) to fit tubeless tires. And saves you having to go to LBS to have them do it for you. It works as advertised (at least for my 700 x 28 tubeless road bike tires). Easy to use: (1) Make sure the canister valve is in the closed position, (2) connect the tubing from the canister to the valve stem (you need to removeโ€ฆ

I've waited a year to write this review and here it is.

I've been waiting a year for this review and here it is. Do it without this airshot device. That's exactly what it does, it gives you a blast of air to secure the tire bead to the rim and that air blast does just that very well. It's very rare that I have to inflate it twice to mount a tire and that's just because I didn't properly seat it on the rim before the airshot. Regardless, even if you don't mount it properly and close the air gap, the first flow of air will prime your tire and theโ€ฆ

A few Tipps. in sport

If you use newer good tubeless rims, fresh tape and new tires it works very well and very fast. It can be a little tricky to refit an old, worn tire with dried latex all over the bead, or an annoying mismatched rim, so here's my workflow: if it's a problem tire that refuses to seat). I use soap and water to lubricate everything. And I use Airshot as instructed. I keep a floor pump attached to the airshot.2. When it sits down, I deflate it by unplugging the floor pump and deflating through theโ€ฆ

  • Something different

Works great even if it's expensive.

I recently had to put a new set of tubeless tires on my road bike. I've been able to use the "just pump until your arms fall off" method of setting tubeless tires in the past, along with the CO2 cartridge method, but I'm feeling exceptionally lazy and have had a few glitches lately when I saw it was available for same day delivery I decided to give it a try (or is it an aerial shot? Got it?). He got the job done and installed two Schalbe Pro One 700x25c tires on my Hope 20Five wheels in noโ€ฆ

Information not found prior to my purchase

I am writing this to provide some information that I wanted but could not find prior to purchasing the Airshot. Here's what I did: I mounted Schwalbe ProOne 700X28 tires on HUNT RaceAero wheels (tubeless road bike tires on tubeless wheels). This was the first time I've reinstalled tires since getting them new in late summer. At first I just tried it with a floor pump and soapy water, but to no avail. I chose Airshot as my next solution. I received the airshot, read and followed the instructions
