Very thick casting with a good finish. I bought it to weld to a pipe to make a punch through the hat, it was welded but it was some of the worst aluminum alloy I've welded. So I don't recommend buying it with the intention of making it, but it's a great carb cap.

worth the money. I previously bought an Allstar carb cap but it was black plastic. For some reason it didn't fit my Holley 850XP. The base of the cap was too small in diameter. This aluminum block fits perfectly and is tight. It's also thick and heavy. High quality item.
