Description of Alstar 4 Elements Barlow Multi Coated Optics

The 1.25 barrel is internally threaded for use with Alstar 1.25" eyepiece and imaging filters. The inside of the 5x High-Power Barlow's barrel is also glare threaded to help prevent internal reflections. The Alstar High-Power 5x 4-Element Barlow Lens quintuples the power of any 1.25" telescope eyepiece. Featuring a high-quality 4-element lens design, the Alstar High-Power 5x Barlow will render exquisite images without introducing additional chromatic abberation while providing a monstrous 5x power boost. The Barlow lens elements are fully multi-coated with anti-reflection coatings to ensure maximum light throughput for bright, crisp views. The lenses are also edge-blackened to further maximize contrast and sharpness.

Save Your Money: Terrible Optics

i recently purchased this camera accessory and was extremely disappointed with its performance. After i put it to the test the images that I captured were extremely blurry and lacked the clarity that I expected from a product in this price range. The multi-coated optics did not seem to make a significant difference.The only positive thing I can say about this product is that it was made of durable materials, but that doesn't excuse its subpar electronics. Buy a good barlow like this one. These individual Barlow elements (lenses) are not comparable.

You need a good barlow. It really improves the picture quality, colors look more natural. You lose a little light but you gain a lot more. I'm glad I bought this. Singleton barlows, on the other hand, are rubbish. This is important when trying to get the most out of your telescope.
