Buy a good barlow like this one. These individual Barlow elements (lenses) are not comparable.
You need a good barlow. It really improves the picture quality, colors look more natural. You lose a little light but you gain a lot more. I'm glad I bought this. Singleton barlows, on the other hand, are rubbish. This is important when trying to get the most out of your telescope.
