Headphones lasted almost 3 months. Standard use, no physical abuse. They stopped working (no sound in one earbud) so I called Altec Lansing and was sure I had a one year warranty as per the brochure on the box. This is my second headphone. I lost my first pair on the trip. I bought this second pair because they are waterproof. I use them every morning during my 1 hour water aerobics class. The Bluetooth connection with my iPhone is fine. They have been splashed with water and dropped in water and still work great. I don't dive head first. I was pleasantly surprised that I only have to charge my headphones about every 2 weeks. I sometimes answered the phone while swimming by pressing the middle button.

Battery life is excellent, up to 20 hours. Unfortunately, in my experience, it stops holding a charge after about 9-15 months of daily use. These headphones are great. I've bought 4 pairs in the last few years. I bought the last one in September. The earbud for the right ear started falling off but they were still under warranty so I sent them in for repair. The headphones were sent back to me two weeks later, but not straight away. They are no longer manufactured and the repair will be replaced with a new model. The new model has 10 hours of battery life, not 20. Its maximum output is about half the volume. I personally liked these headphones for a long time; approx. 5 months without complaints! After a few weeks of use, I noticed that the deep, boomy bass was somewhat distorted, resulting in louder bass to my left ear.
