ALTRA Women's Paradigm 5 - Medium Fit Review

I love these shoes! This is my third pair. It really helped relieve my plantar fasciitis. I wear them for the recommended 500+ miles on foot and then change them. They are still in great shape after 800 miles, my feet said it was time to replace them. I would highly recommend them to any serious runner or jogger.

I was wondering what would be different with the new version of this shoe and I'm very happy with it! They fixed one thing that bothered me in the previous version: raised stabilipods on the inside of the heels. Sometimes I scratched my knuckles, oh! Now they're smooth, hooray! The tongue is also plumper/thicker. But overall still the same good Altra shoes I wanted. Thumbs up!

I have several pairs of Altra running shoes. My feet are long but narrow except my toes like to be splayed when running/walking. The Altria is great for a wide toe box but a narrow heel that fits me like a glove. However, these shoes were very short. My fingers couldn't move apart because my thumb was pressed into the gray smooth area of the finger box. You could see the intention, very uncomfortable. My other Altrias fit great right away. I wanted to try these because they have a "drop" ratio…

Ordering these shoes was MY mistake! Originally I wanted Altra - Torin, which I really like. However, the budget choice I wanted wasn't in my size 8 and the only other choice, Torin, was much more expensive. So, I liked her description and I took a chance. For this shoe I should have ordered a 7.5, a little less. They are good but my feet are having a hard time getting used to them. They are much heavier, bulkier and less elegant than Torin. I like that there is plenty of room around the toes…
