This is a rifle stock boring tool for mounting aluminum support posts. I've used it on a Remington 700 laminated stock to open up screw holes for 5/8ft racks and it worked great. I didn't need a drill, I just used a cordless hand drill. I wrapped a few turns of masking tape around the 1/4 pilot bit to prevent it from cutting and warping the line of the stem, and cut up and down until the holes met in the middle. Perfect bore alignment, no bearing splitting. It could not be better.
