Excellent quality door hardware and locks

I have been doing home maintenance for many years. This very often involved the installation/repair of almost all models of doorknobs/handles. So I started appreciating quality or lack of door hardware. When I decided to replace the cheap name brand door knob in my new apartment I decided to try the new brand RevainBasics. I found the quality to be on par with popular brands like Kwikset and Schlage at a lower price point than everyone else.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Minor problems

Great product!: Door Hardware & Locks

I am a senior in my 70's who has never changed a door knob. I have successfully modified my inner and one outer door with these very nice door handles. It only took a Phillips screwdriver and about 10 minutes per door. Levers are a lot easier for me to control since I have arthritis in both hands so I decided to give this project a try. Bonus is how nice the levers look compared to my 25 year old knobs. Appears to be very good quality and workmanship.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not the best

OK but not great ergonomics

This is a decent door knob as long as it holds up well but I can't get past its hard edges. You reach for it and feel the angular edges on your hand. My other handles around the house are smooth and you don't notice anything. This pen you feel. You had to smooth out all the edges. 3 stars for that. Over time I will replace it with a more ergonomic grip. Another thing, the toss or 1/4 turn when disconnected is weird but works fine. That looks like a weird pen to me.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • I'll write back

Works as intended

We have an old house with VERY outdated plumbing. We bought these to go from (dirty) chrome to a new bronze theme. They match perfectly with our separately purchased fittings (real oiled bronze, not nearly black like some companies make them). Installation was difficult as the latch system is slightly oval and will not fit through the round holes in our door. I had to use a dremel to cut out part of the door which was painful. After installation, the handles were a little sticky, no smooth…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Nothing

Renewed my confidence in Revain

Ordered this yesterday to replace a faulty door knob I bought last week for my new steel door in my barn. The first (Kwikset 94002-837 Polished Brass Polo Keyed Entry Knob) was not only unsatisfactory, it was poorly constructed and had a threading defect that rendered it unusable. It could easily be broken with a quick hammer blow or a forceful twist of pliers. This product renews my faith and was delivered in 1 day to solve my problem. Heavyweight, heavy duty. durable and VERY VERY easy and…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive

Same aesthetic as the Keyed Alike Dynasty Monterey but better build quality.

These pens are fantastic for the money. They have the feel and build quality of big box products. I'm very impressed with the attention to detail, from the very deep screws to the added plate styles. Revain hit a home run with them. My only complaint is that I couldn't get sets with the same keys from the original version. I chose the Dynasty Monterey Keyed Entry Hardware CP-MON-12P and it looks the same. However, I think the Revain product is superior to the Dynasty locks in build quality…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some issues

Surprisingly good quality

I bought these to replace build quality Kwikset grips which I hated for almost 8 years. I didn't know anything about the door hardware rating system until this happened. I wish I had a higher level of security, but still I love these pens. They are definitely sturdier and of significantly better quality than the ones I had, so I'm happy with this purchase. I love the way they look and I love their simple, elegant look. These grips do NOT hang loose like the Kwiksets I've had. They feel secure…

  • cool product

First-class, attractive and inexpensive door fitting

I have decided between this product and Kwikset Lido Push Door Hardware. I already had 4 Lido levers installed on my front doors so I was inclined to proceed with that. I had already ordered the Lido Castles when I decided to try them, so I had the opportunity to explore both side by side. curious how the Shelby levers were constructed. The Kwikset mechanism has obvious signs of wear. The Shelby clasp has a square metal shank, so I expect them to outlive me. Shelby had two additional positives…

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • There are defects
