No problem, full speed as tested.

I had no problems with this as it was used with two different MacBook Pros (2016 13" Touch Bar and 2018 13" Touch Bar). I've tested it in multiple locations from gigabit ethernet to 25Mbps and have had no issues with the speeds, reading and testing at the full speed available at all times. Literally just plug and play; Plug it in, plug in ethernet, plug in the wall and it works. I can't ask for more as the prices were fair too.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Lots

Fix slow download speeds on Macs with Realtek driver.

Although the product page states that no driver is required, my download speed on Google Fiber Gigabit (on a 2019 Macbook Air) was <100Mbps until I installed the driver from Realtek (adapter manufacturer ) installed - now download/upload speeds are typically > 600 Mbps. I would have preferred not to install the driver for the ethernet adapter and was hoping (given the claim on the product page) that it would just work, but once installed the adapter is fine.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • boring packaging

Works well for something that is rarely needed.

I have a new MacBook Pro and all USB-C ports. When trying to transfer my data from a backup, I found that my Thunderbolt to Ethernet connector that I bought when I bought my 2015 MBP wasn't working. The same from Apple costs $10 more. It worked fine. I can use it three more times in the next three years. I don't care about color. I'm only giving 4 stars because I haven't always had good results with the Revain Besics brand. So far, so good.

More than 150Mb didn't set the speed

I have a 1G connection because I'm using WiFi speed drops to 150-200Mb. I wanted to use wired ethernet to get closer to 1G, but unfortunately all new Macs have Type-C ports, making the use of adapters mandatory. This adapter is useless if you want 800MB to 1GB speed over Ethernet. My speed has not improved with this adapter. A simple waste of money. I didn't come back because I was late. It's cheap, very disappointed. I'm using a wired ethernet connection with non-mac computers that haveโ€ฆ

Better than Anker

I purchased this adapter and the Anker adapter on the same day for two different ethernet lines I installed at the same time. The anchor is so wobbly that it keeps falling out of the USB-C port. If I wiggle the cable or move my laptop, Anker shuts down and my internet connection drops. So here we are, while I hate to say anything positive about Revain, the fact remains that the Revain Basics USB-C to Ethernet adapter is better than Anker's (and cheaper). The USB-C connector has a snug fit - itโ€ฆ

Works as advertised. Gigabit verified.

July 2021 One month usage summary. After about 1 month of using this USB-C/Ethernet adapter, I have to say that it has worked flawlessly so far. (on a MacBook Pro) My router says it is a "Luxshare Precision Industries" device. And internet speed tests confirm that it is indeed a gigabit speed device. My computer says it is "Realtek Semiconductor Corp." device. with a speed of 5 Gbps. I like that it's white. I don't like that the device has no specs. So if I keep this in my desk drawer and seeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Some little things

I used this adapter on a MacBook Pro with a USB Type-C port and it worked perfectly right out of the box. I was able to get full gigabit ethernet speeds and was pleasantly surprised by the link and activity LEDs on the ethernet port side of the adapter. The length of the adapter cable is exactly what I wanted - just long enough to remove from my work surface but not so long that it gets tangled or dangling from the desk I'm working at. The cable also seemed durable enough that I didn't think Iโ€ฆ

Failed in less than a day, just as bad as the infamous Belkin

Failed in less than a day. I didn't think something could be as bad as a Belkin USB-C Ethernet interface that failed after a week, but here it is. I strongly suspect that either Belkin's OEMs made Revain, or that Revain and Belkin use the same supplier. I've been using it Mac since late 2017. The same thing happened to this adapter as the Belkin did, it got very hot and then suddenly stopped working. I'm using a late 2017 MacBook Pro. Tried all four ports. I went into the settings andโ€ฆ
