They're not that difficult to install but they knock off the oven grate very easily. And you have part of the edge of the rack that can burn you. They would be better for a non heat based application.

. So. I don't always have the brightest lightbulb, and I constantly go into the oven without oven mitts (you think I'm learning, but no). Covering the edges on the posts has saved me quite a few burns. Very good idea, very good product. I gave 4 stars because they don't stay in place exactly and need to be adjusted/checked before turning on the oven, but it doesn't matter much. I would only deduct an eighth of a star if it were possible.

I was very disappointed that they were primarily used on oven racks as the temperature limit made them unusable for most baking or cooking jobs I can do - a plus as others have pointed out - you are short so you will need to cut them and assemble a cover for the oven rack. However, I have found other uses for them that they are great for.
