Ames KV8312 Digital Answering Machine Review

I gave this to a friend to replace her old answering machine. It worked fine, but only for a week - then it stopped working. Now none of the buttons on the front of the machine do anything.

Just what I needed. The clerk at Best Buy looked at us like we were from another planet. My husband is old fashioned, no cell phone, no email, DUH! I love things, but it takes all kinds to create a world.

Replaces my old answering machine. It has a lot of bells and whistles which is a huge improvement over my previous car. You don't even need instructions to connect it. Just follow the clearly labeled buttons to set it up. Highly recommended. Great price too.

Three months later, when the electricity flashed in my house, it got the answering machine working. Messages cannot be received. The buttons don't work, switching off and on again doesn't help. It shows there are messages there, but when I try to retrieve them it just tells me I need to reset the day and time. When I do that, the messages go away. Find a new answering machine.

I was surprised to see so many features for such a low price. It was very easy to set up and program. Fits neatly and tidily on my desk and takes up a lot of space like old answering machines. The only downside was some background noise, but I think that's because I didn't buy a surge protector. but for €28 you can't go wrong.

A call filter was initially installed to allow preprogrammed whitelisted accepted calls and block blacklisted missed calls. Unfortunately ALL my calls were BLOCKED! :-0 Returned this expired scanner and got this answering machine that answers after 2 rings, warns phone salespeople and solicitors to hang up, remove my number from their call log and asks all other callers to just leave their name, number and a short one message so we can take your call as soon as possible!
