High performance - not great

I wanted a new antenna for my router to improve WiFi coverage in my house. Specifically, the cable goes to the modem/router in the basement, but I want to use the WiFi upstairs. It's easy to install - just unscrew and screw in the old antenna. However, the Wi-Fi strength measured by the app on my tablet was only marginally better than the original. I've tried moving it and looking in different directions etc but nothing seems to change.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Can't remember

Requires adapters for computers and accessories

I bought this antenna to extend the range of an old Linksys router, but older models require you to buy an adapter to use it. I don't know why the adapter wasn't included as older routers need this product the most. This product will not work with newer models that come with built-in antennas. I also emailed the manufacturer and didn't even get an automated reply, hence another star deduction.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Updates

GREAT! - USB Network Adapter

I've tried all sorts of things to "boost" the Wi-Fi signal, including several other antennas and some range extenders. I should have started with that, but I found it too easy. I was right about it being easy, but it's more efficient than anything I've tried. When I connected 2 of these to my Amped Wireless R20000G router, the 600mW Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N Dual Band Gigabit Router (R20000G), I FINALLY got the performance and range I was hoping for.

Does a trick on online products

This little gem is very good. If you need extended range for your router, I would take one of these and plug it into your router's center antenna port. You need a router with a detachable external antenna. I have three of these and it works best when connected to a central terminal. It also helps to place the router at the highest point in the house. I replaced the external 8dbi antenna with this one and seem to be getting an even better signal around the house and yard. Good antenna at a very…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

This product appears to be counterfeit

I have an Amped SR10000 power strip. When you set it up, the software will show you the available routers and their relative signal strength. The router I was interested in had a 67% rating. I removed the two antennas that came with the extension and attached the new antennas using the stand and coax cable. I restored the setting and this time the router I was interested in showed a signal strength of 59%. 8 percentage points less than the antennas supplied with the extension. I thought it…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
