Lasted less than a year :(

This closer fit to my Andersen storm door and was easy to install. However the material quality is poor. The bracket attachment point broke after less than 9 months of use. This seems to be a common occurrence Problem from other reviews I'm not sure why it's rated so highly.

Necessary but crappy hardware

It's a necessary evil for Andersen doors, but the part sucks. Made from pockmetal that is too thin to work with. This is my 3rd purchase in 5 years from different companies who supply them. All from the same manufacturer. Must be steel, not cast aluminum. Break Way is easy from using reg.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Fits but could be more durable

New door fitted about a year ago. The doors are very heavy and close well and of course the brackets are not strong enough and the bottom one broke after a few months. I ended up buying these replacement parts and only wish they were made better. I don't expect them to last much longer, but I've set the door tension to the bare minimum and don't use the footswitch's built-in stopper (as I think that breaks the brace), so we'll see.

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Cheap Chinese quality that broke in 2 years

Ok here again to order again. First time was May 2019, second time August 2021. The fault is exactly the same as other reviewers wrote - a bracket attached to the door frame. I mean. Exactly. The same thing. Spot The only positive was that it was easy to install. Next time this breaks (count on it) I'll just spend time drilling new holes to fit another manufacturer's mount. Maybe it will last longer than the pandemic.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Clarity

Easy assembly, durability questionable.

This was the 3rd door closer I needed for this door I bought about 7 years ago. The door is great. This one part seems to be prone to failure. Anderson could maybe change his design since (to me) he always fails in the same place. Or sell just that brace for a lot less than $17 for the entire replacement kit since we only had to replace the narrower brace every few years. None of the other parts included in the kit will ever wear out.

The door didn't fit or fit me on its own

My Andersen storm door was blown away by the wind a few years ago and the bracket eventually broke. It looked the same but the new bracket will not fit the supplied plate as it used my original installer's screw holes. The problem is that the original plate had holes for the strut to "hook" to, making it stronger, but this plate has no holes and the strut doesn't fit. It's too tight or doesn't fit.

Bracket Replacement OEM Part

This is an exact replacement bracket for our Andersen 3000 Series storm door. The triangular piece that we broke off during use - a design flaw. Now we know that we have to be very careful when opening the door fully. This kit is an exact replacement for the entire bracket. So there are some parts in it that we don't need - at least not yet! But the price wasn't that terrible and we got it fast with Prime shipping. Bottom line the door is solid and we have some spare hardware should we ever…

Fits and great. But they changed it twice.

Although this fits and is exactly what I need, I have replaced this part twice on my Andersen door. This time, I hope, a little longer life. I put the washer in the slot on the part that attaches to the wall. The screw goes into the part, the washer, the back of the part, and then into the wall. Hopefully, but in doing so, the slight movement that would presumably wear others down is absorbed by a snug fitting shim that doesn't allow for wiggle room, and the piece lasts more than a season. We…

Anderson Storm Door Strikers

This was just the right fit for my storm door to close properly on its own. The original piece where the pivot pin broke when screwing it into the wooden frame. It was a simple solution, taking less than two minutes to install. Simply slide the part into the installed panel and screw in a screw. One thing to note though, I have a feeling this part will break again over time as the door has to take a lot of stress to open and close. I wish the original part was a stronger metal because it didn't
