I used Rustoleum spray paint for a solid primer. It's easy to twist the umbrella to create ombre color swirls. Wait at least 24 hours to give it time to settle, release gas, etc. I sealed my samples after 12 hours and they stuck to themselves and peeled off the paint when I opened them. First, these medium to large sized umbrellas are very inexpensive, less than $6 each. I was a bit concerned that a lot of customers were complaining about a few broken parts but apart from some pretty sloppy velcro stitching they seem fine and all 10 seem to work.
