Imperial and metric models on the same dial.

, I have owned and used the 6 inch version of this caliper for a few years, also purchased from Anytime Tools. Still very accurate. Imperial. This makes it quick and easy to determine whether the parts are imperial or metric. easy to read and the measured values are reproducible. Highly recommended. Now if only I could get an altimeter with the same features.

Very good for the money

I had a 12 inch set of Mitutoyo calipers that I got while working with sheet metal. They were great, smooth, fast and accurate. I lost her along the way. I hated not having a pair because once you've used them in the store it's very hard to go back to a ruler or tape measure. It was great to have one of them again. I really can't tell the difference between my old fellows and this thing. I don't make parts for Agfa or Teredyne anymore, so they might not be that accurate, but they haven't gotten

Important feature is missing

I love this 12" caliper but I'm afraid it needs to come back. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a sane way to reset the gear that drives the arms after it misses a rack tooth. The rail on calipers is usually shielded well enough, but not enough to completely prevent small chips from entering. And if the tool is used in a machine shop, it's guaranteed to pick up random chips. Then the gear may be missing a tooth or even more and the tool will not measure correctly, or a hard hit (e.g.
