This is by far my favorite set. 1) They keep their zero. 2) There were no defects in the anvils (I saw one reviewer say they weren't parallel and for me they weren't) 3) After calibrating mine, they worked perfectly at all depths and heights. Based on feedback from other reviewers, when I received this set of micrometers the first thing I did was take each micrometer apart, wipe it clean and apply a few drops of light machine oil to the threads give . part of the spindle in each. Before that, they didn't seem very grainy, but definitely not as smooth as they could be. I then checked each against the included standards and found 5 of them.
