No quality control issues. You have to buy the most expensive model to get the available ports. The cheaper model only has two USB-C ports, and one of those has to be used for power, so there's only one port, which is pretty pathetic. My cheap Windows laptop had an HDMI port, 3 USB ports, and a separate power cord entry. If you're going to connect your MacBook to a monitor, I highly recommend a USB-C pluggable charging station.
