I've never been a fan of suction cups. This is my 4th or 5th vent/dash mount and by far the best. It replaces my newest mount, a Garmin air mount with a flimsy clamp arm. IMO what makes this mount good is its simplicity - the 2 strong tapered arms just clamp around the blade in the vent when you tighten the large easy to use knob.
