Description of Arduino Nano 33 IoT

The ease of use of a Nano board with the addition of secure IoT and BT connectivity. Small (45mm x 18mm), robust and powerful board; 3.3V variant of the Nano family. Arm Cortex-M0+ microcontroller and a pre-certified ESP32-based WiFi and Bluetooth module from u-blox. Clock up to 48MHz, Flash 256KB, SRAM 32KB, Secure WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity with a 6-axis IMU, ECC608A crypto chip provides IoT security. Two 15 pins connectors (one on each side) that are pin to pin compatible with the original Arduino Nano. Pre-certified module with external processor ensures maintaining RF compliance when writing application code.Run directly from high voltages from lead or multi-cell Lithium-ion batteries providing 3.3V power supply to peripherals at significant output current. On-board DC-DC power supply enables the board to be powered up to 21V maintaining high efficiency and offering a lot of current to external devices without overheating.

Small, cheap and broken

I have a dozen of these different Arduino microcontrollers and clones. This one is clumsy, temperamental, and suffers from a number of design flaws.

Universal robust board

I have used an ESP32 based board in several projects before and it works very well. Sure, you can get an ESP32 for less, but if you just need it to work properly, this is the easy way.

These little things are amazing

This is my first experience with Arduinos. I have been using RPI for many years. I'm impressed with the boot time and size/power consumption. perfect little devices for my embedded project!

Connections are difficult.

Works great. My only problem was soldering the wires to the board, but I'm inexperienced with soldering. However, I have successfully established connections. Having Bluetooth already on the board was great.

Arduino Nano 33 IOT has no EEPROM!

I would give this board a 4 and almost a 5 but it has absolutely no EEPROM! This makes it difficult to use for control applications where default settings and maximum/minimum values would need to be adjusted and saved. In the box the board is configured for BLE, the ESP32 that controls the radio needs to be reprogrammed via a fairly complicated process to change it to BT Classic.

Had a lot of fun with Nano 33 IoT

Fun little board. I use this board to send sensor data to my iOS phone over the internet (over my wifi). Works pretty well with a specific iOS app (the name rhymes with "wink"). I managed to use some libraries written for MKR WiFi 1010 when Nano 33 IoT was not explicitly supported in the documentation. I first tried using the Nano 33 BLE Sense to send data to my phone via BLE, but BLE is a completely different world that I haven't delved into yet.

This board is one of the best buys among the original Arduino boards

Compared to an Arduino Nano of the same size or larger Uno see what you get: 1. 8 times more program memory (ROM) 2. 16 times more data storage (RAM)3. 3x the clock rate with 4x the register width and data path (thus even faster calculations than 3x)4. Two bad ones out of the box.

I have one of these but BLE doesn't work anymore - true, it was lying around in a laptop bag for months but unfortunately something seems to have gone wrong with UBLOX. I can still download and use it, I/O still works, just without BLE. So I ordered here as a replacement, got it, soldered the pins in and plugged into my USB and the green light comes on and the yellow one blinks - like it had a blinking sketch loaded. It's okay, but I can't download it. In fact, Win10 Device Manager doesn't even
