🔌 Argon ONE Raspberry Pi 4 USB Type C Cable Power Supply - 3.3ft Long, UL Listed Fast Charger, 18W 5.25V 3.5A USB C Cable Power Adapter Review

Works well with RPI4 and Argon FAN as well as RPI Touchscreen. I need a little more power than many common USB-C 3 amp power adapters. Most RPI USB-C 3Amp power adapters are rated at 15W and will show a voltage drop (less than 5V) as you approach 3A, causing you to get a flash and low voltage message.

This power supply delivers slightly more voltage (5.25V) and current (3.5A) than recommended for the Pi. It's not enough to cause problems and keeps my RetroPi running at 2GHz for the PSU to work well. It would be nice if it had a USB modular jack, but it's technically against the USB spec, so maybe that would be a better idea.

Fixed lightning and low voltage warnings on Raspberry Pi 4. Standard 5V chargers DO NOT CUT! I replaced a 30W (and $30!) USB charger that constantly warned me about low voltage. I wish the cable wasn't attached to the wall wart, but it works as it's supposed to, so I can live with that. No switch, that's not a problem for me either, but you might need a USB-C extension cable with a switch if you really want to turn off the Pi.

I have two 8GB RAM RPi4Bs that only boot reliably with these power supplies. Even the official Raspberry Pi 5V 3A supplies don't, although they match my 4GB RAM devices. I don't overclock, but my 8GB versions run constantly with SSD and HD (I've found SD cards to fail) both powered by their USB ports since I've got those power supplies. No fuss, no fuss; They just do the job.

Various 3rd party PI consumables I have used show noticeable power failures (lots of lightning bolt symbols on screen) when used with the official Raspberry 7"You can supply nominal current, but the PI voltage drops below 4.75V and causes errors/reboots. At the same time, no problem. Please note that the power connections PI3 and PI4 are different. However, you can use any argon supply option, by cutting off the standard USB connector and simply connecting the red and black wires to pins 4 (+5)

TLDR: If you have PI Get This it works great but if you want to use it to power something else it might not work Charger to work with any Type-C device but it didn't work with my camera which surprised me. I haven't looked at the Type-C interface specs (I'm a retired electronics designer), but I understand that it has a SMART protocol to negotiate different charging voltages and speeds.
