MEGA White Wall Plates by Arlington Industries - Model 8100LP-1, 8100LP Review

We wanted something to cover our existing exterior wall panels that also had more space for a larger light fixture and it was perfect! Easy to paint and install.

I got some street lights for my garage for free (from my father-in-law). The mounting base is too big for a standard mounting block. This plate is ideal for large light sources.

This wall plate is large enough for my large light plates. But the cable access hole must be left to the consumer to cut where he needs it. Access is great and if you have a narrow light panel it may not cover the large hole in the center of the mount.

This product solved the long-standing mystery of how to hang outdoor lights from a large mounting base. He climbed over another block from Arlington very easily. The ability to make an offset mount was great and it was the only solution I found in almost two months of searching.

Nice and big, goes well with 8141 DBL. Downgraded because it has a cryptic mounting offset that, despite multiple slots, fails to center on the platter for some reason despite numerous maneuvers, including reversing the orientation. Not as elegant as the packaging photos suggest.

Had to replace very old porch lights. The base is much larger than the old lanterns. I simply removed the old pad from the old base and screwed the new large base onto the old mounting block. PERFECT! looks great and really enhances the entry. Huge difference between new and old! The price is good too!

I have used these brackets to cover small wooden brackets (not the Arlington octagon brackets). They worked great. There is a gap between the edge and the underlying siding (hardieplank) that I plan to eventually fill. But as it stands now they did what I needed (created a large base for large exterior fixtures) without having to re-tighten the side panel, cut, etc.

Dimensions described: 1.2 x 7.1 x 13.5. The actual depth is far from 1.2. It was about 0.75 inches. I bought in combination with a weatherproof electric box that was listed as 1.125 inches. Unfortunately, the depth of the electrical box was also different than the advertised dimensions (closer to 1.5 inches) so I have to change my plans and completely change the installation. How hard is it to get the right measurements.

First off, this is a siding review from a Canadian resident. This is exactly what I needed to cover the octagon square Arlington box. Arlington's original square body was impossible to remove as it stretched out in all directions under the skin of the house. No Canadian store could find what I wanted to solve my lighting problem (the lighting base was too big for a standard square box). Revain.ca was $80 for this thing. Revain.com costs $20.
