The absorbent side of the product works fine. It's the impenetrable side that doesn't. The oil could seep into the mat. It appears to have destroyed the backing so my garage floor now has a carpet-sized mess instead of a few oil stains here and there. I was disappointed with his performance.

The car leaked oil, sometimes a few drops. Oil stain remover/degreaser does not completely remove stains from concrete. I was told to buy a carpet. After a thorough search I found these and chose them based on the size and price and I am completely satisfied! It's big and durable. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner.

I don't really care about looks so I agree with the quality of the mat. The felt on top should be enough to soak up spills, while a firm base will prevent seepage onto the floor. The only thing that bothers me about this rug is the weight, or lack thereof. I bought a 30" x 60" rug so it wouldn't be too big or heavy. I liked this product. It absorbs pretty well. I read reviews about the outdoor placement and expected to have to complain if I wanted to use it outdoors. What I didn't expect is that it's so light it moves in a light wind when I have my garage door open. I placed it under my Morris Minor project car.
