I have to reset the modem EVERY DAY for this to work

Wish I could go back. this is the worst purchase i have ever made. I have to reset this modem/router at least once a day because something is wrong with it. The modem says it's working and all the lights on the front say Wi-Fi is fine, but none of my devices can find the network. EVERY DAY something goes wrong and I have to reboot my modem/router. This works for an hour or two and then all of a sudden you can't find a network, or your Wi-Fi just turns off and some lights on the front go out. Is

Pros
  • 8x4 DOCSIS 3.0 2-in-1 Cable Modem + N300 WiFi Router
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Well I've had this modem for over 6 months now and as soon as I pay for my purchase with my rent savings it goes in the bin. Well first of all I live in the area and have pretty good separation between houses and from about 5 times a week to 5 times a day I have to manually switch channels because Arris is dodging traffic that gets lighter and weaker. (As discovered by the Arris tech support team I have to switch manually as auto-connecting to another wifi doesn't work) and I've also been toldโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Approved by Comcast Xfinity, Spectrum (Charter, Time Warner, Brighthouse Networks), Cox, Mediacom, Suddenlink and most other US cable ISPs. NOT compatible with Verizon, AT&T or Centurylink. Internet service REQUIRED.
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great modem, terrible wifi

For the few weeks I've had it, it's been a very reliable modem at advertised speeds, that is, as long as it was hardwired to my devices. Wi-Fi is reliable when it actually works, but the network regularly loses speed or range. Eventually it slowed down to 2Mbps and didn't get better until I restarted the modem. In other cases, the Wi-Fi signal disappears completely and cannot be detected until the modem is restarted. This does not affect wired devices, so the problem is obviously with theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 8 download channels and 4 download channels with up to 343 Mbps download speed and 131 upload speed Recommended for internet plans up to 100 Mbps.
Cons
  • Updates

I have this modem/router about a year old and recently it started dropping the WiFi signal randomly. I checked my internet speed when connected to Wi-Fi and my speed was half that of when connected directly to an Ethernet network. This clearly indicates that the surfboard is to blame. It's still under warranty, so of course I called customer service. The support staff helped figure out that the problem is indeed in the modem/router, but the return policy is a joke. I was given two options. Send

Pros
  • WiFi router very basic 2.4 GHz, only N300, not suitable for densely populated areas. Can easily be disabled just for tethering and ADD a better wireless router if needed. 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a USB 2.0 port.
Cons
  • Very expensive
