Modem for Spectrum or TWC

I bought to say goodbye to all the BOARDS I received with TWC AKA Spectrum. They are NOW using UBEE so this product was not suitable for me. Because it was too old a model. So they sent me ANOTHER MODEM for FREE which I can only use to make phone calls. I went through 5 modems trying to find the right one. They didn't tell me which one to buy. SO I advise you NOT to buy this product for this company. The rest works great. But that's not what I wanted to use. I tried to get rid of all the…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Buyers beware of good modems

First of all, the device itself is fine and the delivery from the seller was fast. But there is much more behind the scenes. My comments apply to Comcast/Xfinity and Arris - other providers may vary. I bought it on recommendation from Comcast - the customer service rep said they get the fewest support calls on this device. When it arrived I was shocked to see that there were NO instructions on it - clearly a single unit that came from a supplier's wholesale order and was not intended for retail

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

I would give it 5 stars, but even though it's on the Comcast 'supported hardware' list, it causes seizures that can take days or even weeks to resolve. I've spent TOO MANY HOURS on the phone with poor, suffering Comcast contractors around the world trying to make this work. We postponed the service three times. I know this is a Comcast issue, but if you're buying this with them in mind as your bandwidth provider, it can drive you crazy. Once launched, we can stream three movies, internet radio…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Works great with Xfinity

Came as expected. Connected to Xfinity quickly and easily with the automatic option. Have been using it for over 3 weeks to connect phone and WiFi with over 55Mbps download speed and 5Mbps upload speed.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I'll write later

Works with Xfinity by COMCAST (09/11/16)

According to Xfinity Technical Support, this modem is "End of Life" (EOL), which means it is not compatible with their service is compatible. To work around this issue when activating with Xfinity, provide the Arris model number of the non-EOL technology (e.g. Arris TG862) but the serial number and MAC address of the device you have. You will complete the activation and update the firmware to work with Xfinity.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not everything fits

No complaints. the best in computers and accessories

Works as expected. I like having a modem and router in one device - less fiddling with cables and stuff. We bought it because it was on the list of modems compatible with Comcast's new technology. I've had it for over a year and a half with no problems. Make sure you have the latest firmware (or that it was automatically updated when you plugged in a new modem).

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Works with Comcast Xfinity, could be better

Purchased 3 months ago after switching from DSL to cable internet. I used the Comcast list of compatible devices to select this modem and wireless router combo. It took a lot of effort to set up - at first I was able to connect the wireless network to my computer, but no internet. Then after calling comcast I got internet but no wifi. I had to call Comcast to send a signal to get out of bridge mode. The router lost its settings a few times for the first two weeks, but that didn't happen for…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Rewan was great. in modems

I called comcast to confirm that TG 852 G works on their system and was told YES. When I tried to activate it four days later, I was told that Comcast would no longer activate it. I tried four different calls, many hours and gave up. This device is not compatible with Comcast. I returned it. Rewan was great.

Pros
  • Same as all so far
Cons
  • Exchange availability
