I've been using this shaving oil (this brand and "Oc****ane") for about 5 years and I like it, but the travel containers are small and expensive and the oil leaks the bottles on the worktop. That solves all three problems (handy dispenser, no leaks and economical. I use half the pump and that's enough for a great shave. I took several bottles of shaving oil from different suppliers with me to compare. All products have a rating above 4*, this was the most expensive (hence my expectations were a bit higher) but it proved to be the least effective - it takes a lot (oil) for the razor to glide smoothly across the face. $80 for a mediocre item that is under $30 at every other retailer.

I understand that the price of the product is high but small amounts are used which makes it good value for money. Small bottles cost almost $20. It took a while but the secret to using this product for me is that less is more. I use a small amount and rub it in thoroughly and smooth it out. It gives me a very close shave with no cuts. The product is the right consistency in thickness, neither too thick nor too runny, and has a pleasant but not overpowering odor.

Have tried several preshave products and this is the best and the dispenser bottle is way better than any other pour bottle in hand. The product is viscous and does a great job of prepping my mustache and lubricating my face. the scent of sandalwood is barely perceptible and does not linger. Love the pump dispenser which makes using the product so much easier than dealing with slippery bottles.

I have been shaving for 50 years and discovered Art of Shaving products about 5 years ago. I won't use anything else now. I've never experienced a smoother shave - ever. Beard care oil is great. Then I use her brush and shaving soap. My razors last forever! I strongly recommend trying it. You will never go back to a normal shave again.
