Ramen.Pasta.whatever

This is a great ramen product and we have found many other uses. My 18 month old daughter loves pasta elbows and we would prefer penne. We throw it in the basket and cook both at the same time. It's actually a lot bigger than I expected, but our largest bank handles it with no problem. Don't doubt yourself. Buy

Good value for the kitchen and dining room

Overall this product is a good value for the money. I wouldn't feel comfortable paying more than $8 for it, but because it's cheap I can deal with the minor downsides. This product is not very high quality. The photos above show obvious imperfections on the wooden handle. Although they are unsightly, this does not affect the functionality of the product.

Excellent purchase! suitable for colanders and food strainers

I used it last night for the first time since buying it. It was the easiest noodle to make, first time I've made pho for two. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the piece that was supposed to be on the pan while cooking was too sharp, both to touch and for fear it might scratch the non-stick coating on the inside of my dishes . Pot. Otherwise the price is perfect.

Great for scooping noodles out of water

When I saw various cooks using a wire spider instead of pouring out the whole pot of water, a light went on. Delicate filled pasta such as tortellini or ravioli and larger shapes such as penne or cavatappi are really best made from the boiling water, not to mention the steam bath. Not as successful with long, thin items like spaghetti and linguine, but there's always a strainer for that.

Well made but large - suitable for making soups in one pot

every time, it might be too big. I'll see when the weather gets warmer, I'll go to the kitchen utensil store in town and see if I can find a similar but much smaller one. Overall a good quality bucket and of course well packaged and fast shipping from Revain. So I still give 5 stars for quality and service. I can keep it to myself if I don't find something smaller soon.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • It's ok to serve noodles

Surprisingly perfect for washing berries!

I bought two baskets to cook and strain several batches of ramen noodles (tama) at the same time, but separately as is done in professional kitchens. The baskets prevent the noodles from turning into a large, tangled ball that takes time and patience to separate and can result in broken or warm noodles. While we probably don't eat pasta twice a month at most, I've found that it's used as a berry strainer more often! You can swing these little baskets over your sink and drain more water than a…
