    Don't hit the slopes - bring back the Gel Kahana 8!

    I walk/run about 6-7 miles a day, mostly on a combination of gravel, grass and sand. I bought these as they were listed after searching the ASICS website for my preferences and requirements and they fit. After wearing it for three days, my stamina and performance decreased noticeably. That claim is hard to believe, but they are vastly inferior to the previous iteration from ASICS, which I bought several pairs - the Gel Kahana 8 - and are no longer available. production and I can not source…

    Can appear stocky and grandpa-like if you have big feet.

    I'm a size 12 and this is my second pair of Aasics running shoes. This style is much more convex in life than in the picture. I think if I had smaller feet they might look ok, but a lot of people have told me when I've asked them that they're pretty much "grandfathers".     Fits well but lacks padding compared to other ASICS.

    The fit is good but they are more like ASICS trail running shoes I've bought in the past. They don't feel like a gel pad. The reason I prefer ASICS running shoes is their fit and gel sole. They aren't as comfortable as the Gel-Venture 7 running shoes they replaced. When they wear out, I'll order Gel-Venture 7s again.

    Great trail runner

    I ordered these trail runners because they are no longer sold where I usually buy them. I just wish the price was a little lower. These shoes are characterized by quality, durability, comfort and stability. I am an avid cross country runner and run 4 times a week in all weathers, mostly mountain trails. These are the perfect trail shoes to date.

    Go 1/2 size larger.

    I bought a men's size 9.5 in this shoe and could have bought a size 9 instead. Just a little loose in the overall feel when I tighten the laces and when I walk in them they feel a little loose as well. I have already added a Doc Scholl insole which comes with the shoe which I don't like at all when walking. with these shoes. I can buy them again but next time the shoes will be size 9.

    Comfortable, easy walking

    I use them to walk my dog and they are very comfortable. The only downside is that they are almost non-waterproof. So if you step in a puddle, your feet will get wet. Otherwise a lot.

    Bought these to climb Mount Tortugas in Las Cruces NM - lots of rocks and straight up - they are amazing - comfortable and great grip - will be buying more

    Size matters: my rating

    I recently noticed that my shoes have gotten so small. Barely fixed and uncomfortable. I order this show 1/2 size larger. Doesn't matter. Very comfortable, hardly notice I'm wearing them. Great shoes!

    Excellent stability, the best in my rating

    I use them for trails and gym workouts. They have great stability and support. Highly recommended for both. However, in my opinion, this isn't the best choice for running if I'm running something softer.

    The shoes are very nice, look great. Of course, they will not go for our very hot summer in Uzbekistan, it will be hot in them, but for autumn, spring, that's it.

    Poor workmanship and visible adhesive

    I have to say I am very disappointed with the poor workmanship and visible adhesive. I've never had a problem with previous Asics running shoes. This might be a bad batch as I noticed other reviewers have pointed out the same issue. Unfortunately I cannot return the shoes as I am not currently in the US.

    The most comfortable ASICS I have ever bought and have owned about 10 pairs over the years. I use them for light running and long walks. I replaced the laces with elastic for easier on and off. Ideal.
