I far prefer this Kayano model 25

I've been wearing Gel Kayanos for years now and feel like I'm speaking from pretty good experience. I prefer this Kayano to the new Kayano 25 which has been redesigned. There are two reasons for this: 1) The Kayano 23 (this one) has more midfoot gel pads than the Kayano 25. This shoe has two visible gel pads on the outer midfoot, while the Kayano 25 has one midfoot gel pad. Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes

  • Not the best

YAY - Kayanos are back in the 20's (and earlier models)

I'm a big fan of Asics Kayanos. I have moderate overpronation and also need a lot of forefoot cushioning, and the no-frills Kayanos seem to fit me best. I've had it for 12-13 years now. I can always wear them right out of the box. I was curious about the Kayano 23 because many reviews said they were too narrow in toe and width compared to last year's Kayanos. In my personal experience, the Kayano 21 and 22 have become too wide in the toe area. I stayed with them and just laced the boots up as…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Good but not great

Not as good as other Kayanos

This line of shoes was recommended to me by my physical therapist and I've been using them since the Kayano 20 came out. To date, the Kayano 22 is my favorite shoe from 20-23. They lasted longer than other shoes and were so comfortable that I didn't even realize how worn the soles were until I realized it had been a year since I'd gotten a pair. Unfortunately, the 22s were more expensive, so I had to try the 23s. I bought these shoes with high expectations after using 22's and I really liked…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Hard to say
