Description of Astromania H-Alpha Night Sky Filter - Ideal for Enhancing Astronomical Observations - 1.25" Size

A filter with incredible light pollution cut off characteristics. The new H-Alpha passfilter enables high-contrast deep sky images of H-II regions. The H-Alpha filter shares the same outstanding features as all the other Astromania imaging filters. Unmatched optical quality, and high efficiency hardened multicoatings result in the sharpest and highest contrast images possible. The filter is used as an extreme anti light-pollution filter, and for contrast-enhancement of emission nebulae and other astronomical objects bright in the infrared.

Works as expected

Works exactly as it should. It screws easily onto 1.25" eyepieces, but works better with projection camera adapters as the image is usually too dark for visual observation.

Pros
  • New H-alpha transmission filter captures high-contrast deep-sky images in H-II regions.
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Pretty useless filter, like Alstar, which I also have. And returned. Those cheap poops are all worthless and compared to the Orion 1.25" Ha Extra Narrow Band it's just a waste of money. Save a dime, buy something else, not cheap (and useless) crap, because cheap and useful crap exists just not that ha

Pros
  • The filter is used as an extreme filter against light pollution and for contrast enhancement of emission nebulae and other astronomical objects that are bright in the infrared range. .
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Not what I ordered and not what is shown in the photo.

The filter was not the one I ordered. I ordered a night filter to protect against light pollution and I did not receive what was in the photo or in the description. One is on the packaging and the other on the filter. Too many discrepancies. Nothing could be seen in the night sky with this filter. I'm sure it's a good filter for something, but not what I wanted it for (removing light pollution).

Pros
  • The H-Alpha filter has the same excellent performance as all other Astromania image processing filters.
Cons
  • I will write later
