Sturdy construction in C-clamps

Sturdy construction, performs as expected. I used it to compress gas springs for a decorative kitchen door. Unusual app but it worked.

Cheap junk is best in power tools and hand tools

The first time I tried to use the clamp the thing on the end of the spool came loose and fell to the ground. I put it back on but it kept falling off. Also, I was expecting this clamp to be steel, but it's cast iron. I found it light and gentle.

The top part of the clip broke off the first time it was used. I haven't contacted the seller for a long time before trying to use it.

I bought this clamp a long time ago so wasn't expecting satisfaction and to be honest I didn't contact him for a new clamp when it broke off at the top. It looks to me like white metal, not steel, but then again, to be honest with the seller, I'm not a metal expert. I went to my local hardware store and bought the same size for less than half the price I paid for this clip.
