Great Sound for DJ Gear

Once set up, everything works and sounds great. Sounds a lot better than I expected given the low price. I've always been impressed with Audio-Technica products.

Surprised! - Accessories

Headshell - slightly heavier than my standard Fluence but well built. I like it like this. Cart/Stylus - I am very surprised by the sound of this cart. Very clear and dense. Just a hiss on the S, but that's about it. I compare it with atn95e which shows more details but the difference is small. The channel separation is excellent. I can't wait to try the NEW 95E stylus. If there is a noticeable improvement, I am very satisfied.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Frequency

Great sound for little money!

AT VM95C is probably the best $70 a music lover can spend to get a very decent sound from a cartridge. I like it and it's not fussy to set up. It doesn't show all the detail like a more expensive elliptical or thin stylus, but it sounds great for any type of music. Rich and beautiful tone. Highly commended by Herb Reichert in a recent Stereophile review of the VM95 line of cartridges. He rated it the most musically satisfying.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • So-so

Ideal budget cart to upgrade a vintage turntable

Got this shell/cartridge for an old Technics SL-D2 which I gave to my nephew. It was exactly what I needed. Easy installation by changing the shell (cartridge aligned). The sound quality is superb for the price - not audiophile but a big upgrade from my old Crosley. A bonus is that there is a range of affordable replacement needles. Ideal since the child has already bent a needle. Overall excellent value for a budget cartridge. Very satisfied.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Good quality

I bought this cartridge/stylus/head as a MONO cartridge for my Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB turntable. Because this turntable comes with an identical cartridge head (and elliptical stylus), I can swap them out quickly and easily without having to adjust the vertical or anti-slip pressure. I connected the left and right cartridge output pins together. (red to white and blue to green) to output as MONO. This setup works pretty well and I can switch from stereo to mono in about 30 seconds.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine

Extremely impressed

Wow! I can't even express how happy I am with this setup. I can't believe it sounds as good as it does for the price range. I bought an older Technics SL-1900 with what was probably the original bowl and needle. After unsuccessful attempts to replace the needle alone, I have decided to purchase a new sleeve and needle combination. I am very happy with the results. I tried the Djano song by V. Marsalis and it's my favorite song for my stereo. The highs were brilliant, the mids crisp and the bass

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No show

This is a great solution for those who need a one stop solution to get it installed on the arm and no fuss music listen. I bought this for old battered records because I read online that a tapered stylus would be better for these records than my microlinear stylus (which is much more expensive). After some A/B testing, the conical shape wasn't any better. The ML stylus sounded better, tracked scratches better, and actually produced less surface noise on every record I tested. I'm not sure what…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
