This is a really excellent microphone. Not only because of the cost, but also because of the size. I play alto and tenor saxophones a lot and this mic has been the best mic investment I've ever made. I use this for my accordion's microphone on the bass side. I put on a little velcro and hang it down. It raises the whole register and you don't hear any key bouncing. It really is the perfect microphone. I liked it so much that I bought another one to put next to the piano, since I use a standard house microphone there for vocals now, so soon I won't have to worry about it anymore. I plan on using this with VOCALS rather than an instrument, primarily a lavalier as I didn't want to pay more than $400 if there was a better way should give. Enter this guy and wow. Exceptional design and build quality, from the spring clamp, gooseneck, cable clamps, windscreen/shock mount and of course the mic capsule itself. Oh, and an XLR to mini XLR adapter with switchable low rolloff. Sounds great when I pin it on my lapel and point it at the kalimba (thumb piano). As a professional trumpeter who plays live 2-3 times a week, I haven't found a better clip. The sound is great for the price. The low-frequency switch is very useful in order not to transmit to the public every hitting, tapping and draining of the water key.
